Our First Space...ReWorked!
It's a wrap! We finished our first ReWorked project today! We couldn't be more happy with the way it turned out. We do have one thing to finish up yet.... I am making a sign for our client, but it happens to be rather large, so I didn't get it finished before the install. It will hang on the large empty wall to the right.
So keep in mind the premise behind ReWorked is to use what you already have, unless you have a budget for new pieces. In this case we had a small budget to work with, which allowed us to shop for a few new accessories. Here are the before pictures:

before: The coffee table in the middle is from her parents, it is rather large but definitely something she wanted to keep in the room. If you notice the couch is not centered on the wall so the 2 pictures above are centered on the couch. That poor lamp was missing it's fixture. There is a massive t.v. on the opposite wall.

The curtain panels were a little too short for the wall, leaving about 12" of the wall & baseboard exposed.

This picture is bad quality but gives you a better idea of what's going on in the corner.

After: We centered the couch & flanked the 2 chairs on each side. Moved the Wicker trunk to now use as the coffee table. We centered the 2 pictures and hung them a little farther apart. And we found the light fixture that goes with the lamp.

We moved the large wooden table off to the side. It was just too big to use as a coffee table with this furniture placement. So we added a blanket and pillows to make it seem more like seating. It's just too low add frames or other decor.

I made new curtain rods using pvc pipe and wooden balls. Nicole ironed on ivory curtain panels (using wonder-under) to the back of the current panels to make them appear longer. Almost like they're layered.

The wicker trunk is super cute and functional but the top was sagging. So I made a wooden tray/topper for it and now you can safely set your drinks etc...

They were getting ready for a birthday party so the tv tray with soda bottles on it, isn't normally there nor is the birthday balloon! We discovered a large hole in the corner wall about 6 inches down from the trim. Finding something long enough but yet skinny enough for that space was going to be difficult so I made this photo board using 2 pieces of wood and some jute. The TLC letters in the background are unfinished wooden letters from Hobby Lobby stained with an espresso wood stain. (the initials of the client and her cute kids!)

Eventually she would like to have her chairs painted.

The taller bistro chairs were already in the room and functioned for extra seating so we kept them there.

Super fun project and definitely learned a lot along the way. Onto the next one.... A Consultation tomorrow!
